Our 32-bed Rehabilitation Unit is aimed at helping you make an easy transition from hospital to your life back at home.
Our programs are individually tailored by by rehabilitation specialists to help you make a faster recovery. Our physicians assess your progress on an ongoing basis, to have you back enjoying your usual activities as soon as possible.
Every day, the unit helps patients recover from a range of conditions, including orthopaedic and sporting injuries, post-surgical orthopaedic care and injuries to the back and neck.
Wolper Jewish Hospital’s permanent rehabilitation registrar is an accredited teaching hospital position for the University of Sydney in conjunction with the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
Your physicians are supported by an experienced team of specialist rehabilitation professionals including:
- Nursing staff
- Occupational therapists
- Speech pathologists
Our rehabilitation services include:
- Occupational Therapy
- Exercise Therapy
- Discharge planning
Our 32-bed Rehabilitation unit is located in a separate wing in the hospital so that you can focus on getting well. All of our rehabilitation inpatients enjoy a private room with windows that open to fresh air and a leafy outlook. Some rooms even have their own private terrace. Each room also has a comfortable, modern ensuite and the latest nurse call and telephone systems, air-conditioning, internet and entertainment facilities.
Our physiotherapy space has a wide array of comfortable, modern equipment in a large, airy room. Our hydrotherapy pool is attractive and easy to access, with roomy showers and lockers adjacent. You will be able to work on your own or with your therapist as needed.
With our updated gym and pool, our rehab unit resembles a health club and enjoys a similar atmosphere, with everyone working towards the same goal of wellness.
What to bring, wear, when you book in for Rehabilitation.
As a Rehabilitation patient, you are encouraged to have all your meals out of bed and be as active as possible as you work towards achieving full independence.
Rehabilitation patients are required to bring:
- Comfortable day clothes, shoes (not scuffs) and night attire
- Front buttoning clothes (for people with upper limbs problems)
- Swimming attire (for patients undergoing hydrotherapy)
- Personal toiletries
- All current medications and repeat prescriptions
- Current x-rays
- We advise you to leave all valuables at home. Wolper does not accept responsibility for valuables lost.
Ask your doctor to refer you to Wolper for Rehabilition treatment. Please also complete your pre-admission form and make sure it is lodged with us at least three days before you begin Rehabilitation. This will make your admission process faster and easier.
